2000 WAS THE YEAR OF
PASTOR JON'S
SABBATICAL.

Pastor Jon had served St. Timothy Lutheran Church for seven years. This year he took time for personal reflection and study. The first activity he chose was to return to India with his family.

INDIA WAS NOT NEW FOR
THE HOLMERS.

Both Pastor Jon and his wife Sue had spent years in India as children. Both of them had fathers who had served as missionaries to India. The Holmer children had grown up hearing about India, but none of them had ever been to India. Just after Christmas, all of the Holmers traveled to India to visit the places where Jon and Sue had lived.

ON MARCH 5TH INDIA CAME TO ST. TIM'S!

The Holmers brought back items that reflect the culture of India. They used them to decorate Fellowship Hall. Sue prepared an Indian feast to feed 100 people. Saris were provided to the first guests to arrive. Sue made a presentation, and the food was served. Later, a video of the trip was shown.
